Eligibility: Professionals

Eligible Video Consortium members are actively working in visual journalism, documentary film, or social/emerging media-driven nonfiction storytelling, with bylines or credits that represent their professional industry work and reach. Also requisite is a passion for impactful storytelling, for helping others, and for making the media industry a more collaborative and welcoming place for all.

To join the community, it’s required that you’re actively working in documentary or video journalism. If commercial work is your primary focus, that’s ok—as long as you have nonfiction experience and credits. You must be currently working on a nonfiction project or projects (anything from hands-on producing to assisting in the camera department to managing a video department) and have a passionate desire to share and connect with fellow nonfiction creatives to grow and learn, together.

Eligibility: Students

Eligible student members are studying or recent graduates of nonfiction storytelling and/or journalism and/or nonfiction communications. You must have a foundational production skillset, at least one sample of nonfiction video work to present, and a record of interest in to pursuing a career in nonfiction visual media (through documentary/journalism classes, accreditation, etc).

Students and recent graduates are eligible for 50% off premium membership.
