Wayward composer and songwriter turned multimedia artist and documentarian. Particularly interested in capturing live performance and community centered work (primary passion project is about music and dementia). I also make damn good music.

About

Joshua Hill is a Los Angeles based composer and multi-media artist. He received a Canadian Screen Award for writing the song “The Crown Sleeps” in the Academy Award nominated film "The Breadwinner". Funded by an Arizona Commission on the Arts grant, Joshua spent time with The Wooster Group in NYC. As a composer he has scored two feature films Additionally worked with Michael Krassner (Boxhead Ensemble) and Tim Rutili (Califone) on films that have premiered at festivals such as Sundance and SXSW. Since 2020, he has been working on a project Song Cycle which explores the powerful connection between music and dementia. This project is a collaboration with director Genevieve Fowler and has had performances at REDCAT, The Amargosa Opera House, The Tank Center For Sonic Arts, and unofficially Roden Crater.
