About

River Finlay is an award winning documentary filmmaker dedicated to powerful, character driven stories that are socially and politically relevant to our changing world. Her award winning short films have screened at dozens of festival including Hot Docs, Sheffield Doc Fest, Big Sky Documentary Fest, Camden International Film Festival and featured on National Geographic, The Atlantic, and Remezcla. River’s point of view as a director/producer is rooted in twenty years in international public health- most recently with International Planned Parenthood Federation where she developed health programming and messaging for young people. This experience deeply informs the content of her work, which centers on education, sexual/reproductive health, and supporting women and girls to reach their dreams throughout the world. She lived for over a decade in Latin America and speaks fluent Spanish. She is currently directing her first feature film about Chilean American Author - Isabel Allende.
