iari varriale is a film editor, documentary director of photography, and producer based in New York City, and originally from Italy. Recently he worked on "Capturing the Killer Nurse" - Netflix (as Additional Photography), "The Conspiracy" - DOC NYC - produced by Story Syndicate (as Lead AE and Compositor), "The Sunshine ISSUE" (as Lead AE and Associate Producer), and a series of educational videos for Time for Kids (as junior editor). The most recent doc-style commercial works are a series of videos for the multinationals Alibaba.com, and Decathlon, and a short for Rolex Fellowship. He has been a 2021/22 UnionDocs - Center for Documentary Art fellow, and Kazuhiro Soda’s mentee. He earned his MA in Documentary Film from Baltic Film School, Tallinn University as a full merit scholarship awardee. During the pandemic, the European Union awarded him a grant to support his post-graduation research on performance, theater, and documentary. He is a member of the Doc/it – Italian Documentary Association and of the Alliance of Documentary Editors for which he also volunteer as a member of the Finance and Budget Committee. He is passionate about neuroscience, psychedelics, and meditation.
