About

Colin Rosemont is a writer & director working across scripted and nonfiction film. He is currently in production on his first documentary feature, co-directed with Sandra Hernandez of the Tejon Indian Tribe. This feature film has received funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and California Humanities Documentary His previous short documentary, Unearthed (Santa Barbara Intl, Mammoth Lakes Intl, San Diego Intl, Red Nation Film Fest) looks at the possibility and extent of collaborative, co-constitutive knowledge production of the past through the lens of an ongoing archeological excavation in the mountains of Southern California. This work is part of ongoing efforts to decolonize methodologies and re-inscribe social histories into the landscape. He recently completed another short documentary, A People's History of Cement (SF DocFest), which examines the nostalgia, pride, and pain wrapped up in post-industrial towns, and all the paradoxes inherent in loving the very thing that causes you so much harm.
