Cecilia Brown is a documentary film director and editor with a master's in multimedia journalism from University of Oregon. She is also co-founder of Sideyard Studios, a documentary production company that she began with her husband Winslow Crane-Murdoch. In 2023 she directed and edited Strong Grandma, a documentary short that is currently making the festival circuit, and in 2022 was the editor and writer on Walking Two Worlds, a 30-min short that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Throughout her career she has made work for The North Face, Expedition Studios, Time Magazine, Magnolia Network, This American Life and Reveal Podcast. She has received multiple awards for her work, including “Best Oregon Filmmaker.” Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Cecilia was a market research consultant and strategist, and conducted hundreds of qualitative interviews for a range of brands.
