Rolling Deadlines:

  • For independent environmental journalists and filmmakers worldwide, The Pulitzer Center hones in on crisis reporting, under-reported stories and global issues.

Upcoming Deadlines:

  • October 24: Mountain Workshops is currently taking applications for its photojournalism, video storytelling, and picture editing workshops.

  • October 29: CAAM provides production funding to independent producers creating films that illuminate the Asian American experience for public television broadcast. Awards typically range between $10,000 to $50,000. Learn more here.

  • October 30: South African Humanitarian filmmakers, the NHC invites you to submit your heritage project. R100k available to assist you with preserving SA’s rich heritage and culture. Apply here!

  • October 31: The Roy W. Dean Grant is now accepting applications for fiction and documentaries. If you have a unique film project that contributes to society, apply here.

  • October 31: The 2024 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship application cycle is now open! $8,000 unrestricted cash grant available to artists living in New York State and/or one of the Tribal Nations located.

  • November 2: The Rotterdam Lab Fellowship is open to U.S. citizens or U.S.-based producers with no more than two feature-length film producing credits. The lab is designed to build up emerging producers’ international network and experience through panel discussions, industry speed dating, project advice and more. Learn more here.

  • November 3: Applications are open for the Knight Art+Tech Expansion Fund! Apply for the tools you need to expand your use of technology and increase the impact and reach of your work.

  • November 14: Calling LGBTQ+ Filmmakers! Need support to finish your film? Apply for the Completion Fund offering up to $5K, ensuring your LGBTQ+ stories reach broader audiences. Frameline is here to help you make an impact!

  • November 20: The Pretty Wild Fellowship provides four filmmakers or filmmaking teams with a $50,000 unrestricted grant + 2 creative retreats + mentorship for their short documentary. Apply here:

  • November 24: Sunny Side of the Doc Global Pitch 2024 is dedicated to documentaries willing to shake things up in order to map a more sustainable world! Learn more here.

  • December 15: Black List x WIF Episodic Lab program is calling for applicants. Promising non-professional television writers have the opportunity to be selected; find out more here.

  • December 19: Shondaland Women Directing Mentorship is open! Calling all aspiring UK and US female directors with unique voices and providing a launchpad for their careers.

  • January 1: The MacDowell Fellowship awards based artistic excellence and encourages artists from all backgrounds and countries to apply. From architecture to visual arts. Find out more here!

  • October 24: The València Indie Film Festival champions daring storytelling and innovative filmmaking in Spain. Documentary, feature and short filmmakers, apply here!

  • October 27: Calling on narrative and documentary feature filmmakers from around the world, the 20th edition of Glasgow Film Festival is early awaiting your submission!

  • October 31: Kenya Film Commission invites filmmakers from all 47 counties to join the Reel County Film Festival. Share your county's unique cultural, social, and economic stories through impactful narratives, historical figures, and iconic locations.

  • October 31: Karama Human Right Film Festival is now accepting submission! Embrace the complexities and simplicities of human rights in this year's theme. Submit your work reflecting the significance of this years’ theme: "The Heart of the Matter”.

  • October 31: IndieFlicks is calling for short filmmaker applicants, celebrating the art of independent cinema for a global audience. Apply here!

  • October 31: International non-fiction filmmakers True/False are waiting for your submission. Shorts, features and everything in between! Apply here now.

  • November 1: Submissions are open for the 49th edition of Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, happening May 1 to May 11, 2024. Submit your shorts and feature length non-fiction work here.

  • November 3: Outfest Fusion QTBIPOC Film Festival is celebrating its 21st edition of visibility of the LGBTQIA+ stories and empowering diversity and empathy through storytelling. Submit your feature or short films and amplify your voice!

  • November 30: Big Sky Pitch is now open for submissions! Your feature documentary must be a WIP. If that's you…apply here!

  • December 8: Enter your work in the 45th Annual Telly Awards. If your work pushes the boundaries of creativity, you should DEFINITELY apply!
