About

Tristan Kneschke began his New York City career editing commercials, then transitioned into color grading during the economic upheaval of the early 2010s. While he has colored spots for many recognizable advertising brands, in recent years he has shifted over to longer-form narrative and documentary work that provides greater fulfillment. Recently, he provided both color grading as well as the score to the documentary "Conceiving Our Future," which enjoyed the distinction of screening to a sold-out theater at DocNYC, Americas biggest documentary film festival. Kneschkes scoring work is informed by his electronic music project Metamyther, which explores the union of cinematic and industrial music, injecting the three-movement structure prevalent in classical sonatas with contemporary timbres. This methodology is best realized on his seventh album, the two-hour concept album Ruinology, an odyssey of synthesizers, drum machines, modular textures, and spoken word carefully sculpted by software. This highly specific style is by far not the only style he can produce; he is adept at molding his style to fit a picture's needs.
