Max Barbakow is a filmmaker based in Los Angeles whose projects for companies like Fusion, Refinery29, & Participant Media have allowed him to chase stories and landscapes around the world, from Laos to Wounded Knee to Rajasthan to Yonkers. A graduate of Yale and the AFI Conservatory, his films have played Tribeca, won awards at Hamptons and Reykjavik IFF, streamed on United Airlines, & have been shortlisted for a BAFTA. Most recently, he made two shorts in Cuba with Werner Herzog.
