Jonas Bishop Hayes is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker who lives in Brooklyn, NY. He works on a range of filmed projects from narratives to music videos to documentaries. He looks to tap into the visual language of the Direct Cinema movement from the 1960's and 70's. He is currently working on two documentaries. One is about the ice cream truck turf wars going on in Manhattan and the other is a hang out film in the style of Les Blank about the Polar Bear Club in Coney Island. He is a self described humanist and looks to infuse his films with a sense of sincerity, love and hopefully humor. He is often found shooting on 16mm film to tap into some of the beauty that his documentarian heroes were able to capture.
