Jack Weisman is a Director and Cinematographer working in documentary, performing arts,and dramatic fiction. He is a co-founder of Documist Films Inc., a US-Kenyan based production company. As a Cinematographer, Weisman has filmed TV series and documentaries for BBC, Netflix, CBC, TVO, VICE, Smithsonian TV, OLN, and Bravo. His photography has been published in The New York Times, The Associated Press, LA Times, The Hollywood Reporter, among others. Weisman enjoys working in remote locations having had the honor to shoot projects in Kenya, Haiti, Peru, Venezuela, The Amazon Rainforest, The Virgin Islands, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Northern Canada. His images have been described as highly sophisticated, mature, and multilayered, often deploying the use of confessional, vérité, and constructed storytelling to achieve evocative moods and tones. When Two Worlds Collide, a UK-Peruvian feature documentary Weisman spent two years filming with co-cinematographers Heidi Brandenburg and Mathew Orzel, premiered at Sundance 2016 where it was awarded a Special Jury Prize.
