Carmen Gentile is the founder of Postindustrial Media, an outlet covering the Rust Belt, Appalachia, and Postindustrial Communities around the world. Before founding Postindustrial in 2018, Carmen covered the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other conflicts around the world. He is also the author of Blindsided by the Taliban, a retelling of his unusual injury in Afghanistan and recovery. He is a Western Pennsylvania native who splits his time between the United States and Croatia. A long, long, long time ago, when he was in college, Carmen wanted to be a travel writer/filmmaker and has been chasing that dream ever since.
