My name is Angaelica LaPasta and I am a Brooklyn-based filmmaker and animator with a passion for art and documentary storytelling. I have worked with the likes of MoMA, Art Omi, Elara Pictures, and more. I currently work as an assistant video editor.
Angaelica LaPasta is a Webby award winning filmmaker, animator, and video editor with an interest in incorporating historical iconography, whimsy, and a feminist perspective into all of her work. She has worked with clients such as the Museum of Modern Art, Art Omi, and Elara Pictures. She inexplicably has a degree in archaeology and classics from Cornell University. Although she was born and raised in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania, she now lives in Brooklyn, New York with three friends, two cats, and a lot of old cameras.
I directed and animated this short experimental film "Things I Like." It features the voices of my friends and is focused on joy. It has screened at
ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival, LA Femme International Film Festival, and The Palm Springs Animation Festival.
I assistant edited and acted as production assistant for season 2 of the Museum of Modern Art's behind-the-scenes Youtube Series At the Museum.
I animated a few segments for the film Romantic Chorus (2021).
I filmed and edited this short documentary for Art Omi about Shona McAndrew's installation "Just the three of us."
I film McAndrew as she carefully assembled life size works of sculpture and reflected about women and their place in art history, society, and most importantly in each other's lives.
