About

VIVIANA ZUÑIGA is a multimedia director and creative producer with experience in storytelling through cinema, documentaries, photography and advertising for brands. Her documentary “Here we are” premiered at the Morelia International Film Festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Raindance Film Festival, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, among others. Producer of “The Echo” directed by Tatiana Huezo, which premiered at the 73rd edition of the Berlinale 2023, winning best documentary film and best direction. She also directed and co-produced a documentary web series "The Power of Women in Pandemic Times" and was recently winner of the PECDA Veracruz 2023 in the Audiovisual Media category with her project Yerba Bruja where she explores topics such as the search for identity, rituals, gender, religious syncretism and music. She was recently selected to participate in EURODOC24 international lab for creative documentary to develop her feature film “Bravas”. Current 2024 winner of the SSP: Latam scholarship that connects regional filmmakers and social innovators in Latin America to produce short documentaries focused on solutions that catalyze positive changes. Viviana is also a musician in traditional music “Son Jarocho” with her band Son de Luna where she sings and plays jarana, and she is also a scholar at the Luis Buñuel Veracruzana Film School in Xalapa, Veracruz.
