Emmy-nominated creative polyglot working across film, photography & design
About
Howdy! I’m Sam, and I make stuff about people who make stuff (currently as the Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Whimsy.)
I’m a NY Emmy®-nominated director & editor working between LA & NY. My work has been featured in Vogue, PBS, and the Museum of Modern Art. I have a natural hunger for collaborative storytelling that is fearless and uncompromising, and am committed to making good trouble and raising difficult questions through film.
In recent incarnations, I was the creative marketing director at the Academy Award®-winning Breakwater Studios, where I ran Oscars® campaigns, headed up the marketing department, and cut teasers, trailers, and social content. Previously, I worked in the photo department at MoMA, the archaeology & museum programs at the Dalton School and the education team at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
I graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a B.A. in History and French and earned an M.A. in Art History from University College London.
