With over a decade of experience in documentary and video journalism, I love every phase of the production process but specialize in story and video editing.

About

Lauren Knapp is a documentary filmmaker, video journalist and editor. Currently the Director of Video Production at the University of Maryland's Office of Marketing & Communications. Previously she was the Senior Video Editor for the Scripps News Investigative Unit, where she also worked as a producer, director and videographer. Her stories have been featured on The New York Times, PBS NewsHour, NPR, PRI’s The World, The Atlantic, McClatchy Studios and TIME among others. She likes stories that portray the human experience in all its complexity, are rooted in journalism but told artfully. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Grinnell College and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University. She has taught video journalism and film production at Georgetown University, Northwestern University, and George Mason University.
