About

Kate has spent her career in roles that balance creativity and strategy, led by a belief that we can create social impact through storytelling. In the last 13 years, she has developed, written, produced, and directed content ranging from social media series and scripted short films to documentaries (shorts, series, features), TV pilots, and campaign videos. During her three years as the VP of Content & Education at Kiss the Ground, she led the strategy for three programs and developed and produced all of their films and educational content. Highlights of this work include branded content with Good Culture and Elektra Records, an animated short film co-written with Indigenous activist and author Lyla June Johnston, a documentary on farming in Arizona, and campaign spots for the #RegenerateAmerica initiative. Following KTG, she story produced a feature doc for Appian Way and QC Films and served as the Director of Story Consulting for nonprofit climate consultancy Good Energy. She is currently developing, producing, and directing a slate of scripted and unscripted films focused on issue areas including the climate crisis, mental health, and abuse in addition to developing several comedy TV pilots.

The Possibilities of Regeneration

This film explores the origins of regenerative agriculture, offering a story that is both new and ancient in its roots. Co-written and narrated by Lyla June Johnston, an Indigenous public speaker, artist, scholar, and community organizer, the film takes a holistic approach to regenerative stewardship, expanding the idea of regeneration beyond the principles popularized in the relatively young regenerative agriculture movement. This educational, animated short film is designed to inspire individuals to take action around regenerative agriculture and climate change. Audiences are left to answer one of the most pressing questions of our time: if we expand the regenerative mindset beyond farming, what else is possible?
