Asher Levinthal is a non-fiction storyteller and currently in postproduction on his debut documentary, Shaken, about a family wrongfully accused of shaken baby syndrome. Asher is a co-founder of Still She Rises, the first public defender office in the country dedicated to the representation of mothers based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Asher’s work at Still She Rises has been written about in the New Yorker, NBC News, and the Christian Science Monitor among other publications. He was a supervising attorney at The Bronx Defenders where he specialized in the representation of parents accused of abuse and neglect. Asher worked on Living in Emergency (dir. Mark N. Hopkins), which debuted at the Venice Film Festival. He holds a Juris Doctorate from University of Pennsylvania Law School where he was the Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Social Change.
