Rolling Deadlines:
  • #Grant The Pulitzer Center invites filmmakers and journalists from around the globe to apply for its International Reporting Grants targeted at in-depth, high-impact reporting. 🌎

  • #Grant Data journalists, this could be your big break! The Pulitzer Center on crisis reporting is offering grants for projects that place a spotlight on underreported issues. Apply here. 🔦 📈

  • Are you interested in learning about video production as a profession? Bridges Fellows will receive an immersive 12-week training in workplace literacy, career readiness, and communication skills while gaining experience in video pre-production, production, and post-production. 🐤


Upcoming Deadlines:
  • January 26: #Incubator #Workshop #Production Dok.incubator offers an intensive, international, 8 month workshop where they offer editing, distribution and market strategy assistance to filmmakers with rough cut documentaries. If you need help making your work go from good to great, apply today! 🧰 🛠️

  • February 1: Applications are open for the Second Annual Writers’ Workshop at the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study! ✒️ The workshop will take place from August to October 2023. African creative writers and journalists can apply now.

  • February 1: #Journalism #Awards Entries for NASW Science in Society Journalism Awards are open now. Nominations are not limited to NASW members — all media professionals and journalists are encouraged to submit entries! 🧫

  • February 5: #Workshop Calling Brazilian journalists! The ICFJ and Serrapilheira Institute are now accepting applications for those who are interested in investigating scientific disinformation. Stand a chance to join the ‘Disarming Disinformation’ ‘investigathon’ in the United States this April, where you could be invited to pitch your project ideas to funders. 🕵🏽

  • February 6: #Travel #Fellowship The Society of Environmental Journalists is offering diversity fellowships of up to $2500 for their participation and attendance at #SEJ2023 in Boise. 🌱

  • February 9: #Awards #Submissions One World Media Awards are open for entries from 5 Jan 2023. 🏆 Prepare your application now! Entries should focus on stories related to low- and middle-income countries across the global south. This includes countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East, Russia or the Post-Soviet States. 🌍

  • February 13: #Finance #Workshop Women, NB and GN doc filmmakers, get your documents in order. WIF’s Financing Intensives are open to applicants. 📝

  • March 1: #Fellowship U.S. journalists can now apply for the Edward R. Murrow Press Fellowship. The winning fellow will receive 10 months in residence at Council in Foreign Relation’s Headquarters in New York, as well as a stipend of $100 000. 🗽

  • March 1: #Impact Impact Coordinator course in South Africa: Sunshine Cinema and the University of Cape Town have partnered to deliver an online course on impact coordinating for filmmakers. ⬅️

  • March 31: #Showcase Kickstarter's Long Story Short! Kickstarter is inviting emerging and established filmmakers, film students, and other enthusiastic cinephiles to start thinking now about what they want to launch into the world for the Long Story Short showcase, Kickstarter’s annual celebration of short films. Winners will join an amazing cohort of filmmakers. 🦵🏼 🏁
