About

Xiaoying Su, whose preferred name is Echo Su, is a documentary filmmaker based in New York with four years of working experience in the industry in China and the USA. She is a visual storyteller who reveals her character's inner world with a sociology and journalism background, combining thought-provoking soul inquiry and poetic intention aesthetic pursuit. She is the executive producer and editor of the feature film Love Story in Xiangxi. This feature film was exhibited at the 27th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. Currently, she is working towards her second MFA at the School of Visual Arts MFA program in documentary film and working toward her first directed feature documentary about the empowerment of Asian women.

The Video Consortium is a global nonprofit media organization that supports the world’s nonfiction filmmakers and video journalists to tell bold stories that change the world.
