About

Shadi Tabibzadeh is an Iranian activist, documentary filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist based in Germany. With a diverse academic background in social communication sciences, journalism, and international affairs, Shadi brings a unique perspective to her work. For the last 4 years, she has been researching the use of music, particularly rap and hip-hop, as an act of resistance in pop cultures among marginalized communities in Iran. Currently pursuing a degree in Visual Anthropology and Documentary Practices at the University of Münster, Shadi is deepening her understanding of the intersection between audiovisual art and social justice. Through her non-fiction visual storytelling and cultural studies, she is dedicated to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities, particularly Afghan immigrants in Iran. Her goal is to give a voice to those who are often unheard of and empower them through her work.
