About

Stephen Seliy is an independent filmmaker and cinematographer headquartered in Pittsburgh. Seliy believes that Cinema can engage hearts and minds with inspiring storytelling. Seliy has been employed as a filmmaker, producer, director and cinematographer for 40 years and is currently the owner of silverlakefilms.com as a documentarian. Seliy grew up in a small coal mining town east of Pittsburgh just as the mine was tapped out. As a student at the University of Pittsburgh Seliy worked his way through school on the labor gang at US Steel’s Duquesne Works.
