Who can be an Organizer or Ambassador?

Organizers and Ambassadors are community leaders who are proactive, initiative takers, and actively work in the nonfiction field. They have the capacity to share their time, expertise, connections, and creativity with the VC community.

Organizers do not have to be VC members to start the process of creating a Local Hub.

Ambassadors must be VC members who understand our values and ethos, and can appropriately represent our global community at their proposed event(s).

Do I need to have years of experience in nonfiction to start a Local Hub?

Not necessarily. What matters most is that you’re actively working in nonfiction and are committed to building community. Whether you’re at the start of your career or already well-established, your perspective and leadership are valuable. We believe the strength of our network comes from the diversity of its members, including where they are in their professional journeys. Starting a Local Hub is a chance to grow alongside others, create meaningful connections, and shape a space where emerging and seasoned voices can thrive in community. We’re here to grow together!

What’s the time commitment to being an Organizer?

The time commitment in leading a Local Hub is shaped by your team’s energy and bandwidth. We encourage Organizer teams to set realistic and achievable goals for their Hub, find a rhythm that works, and support one another. And remember, we’re here to guide and support you in planning gatherings that align with your vision and capacity. Let’s build your community with intention, consistency, and care!

I want to start a Hub but don’t know other creatives who’d want to do this with me. What should I do?
