Originally from Iran, Maral Satari is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. She has written and produced Pop Americana and the James Beard-winning and Webby nominated docu-series In Real Life for Al Jazeera. Maral was also the co-casting director for Roy Andersson's A Pigeon Sat on a Branch, winner of the Venice Golden Lion. She's worked for filmmakers Scott Rudin, Jonathan Demme, and Iara Lee and is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Her episodic docu-series MANIMAL KINGDOM was featured in Gotham(formerly IFP)’s Spotlight on Documentaries sections and commissioned by First Look Media.
