About

John has worked as an AP, researcher and development producer for award-winning production company Insight Films as well as the BBC. This includes credits on investigative films 'Kenya’s Killer Roads' and 'Not Our War: Africans Fleeing Ukraine' for the BBC's investigative documentary series Africa Eye, as well as the broadcaster's flagship 'Football's Darkest Secret' exposé and Netflix's 'Scouts' Honor' investigation. Newly based in New York, John is currently working as a self-shooting PD on two projects; the early stages a film exploring the impact of lithium on indigenous communities in Argentina, and an observational documentary following the life of an tango dancer struggling economical and political turmoil in Buenos Aires. John learned the art of storytelling as a journalist in his 20s, before moving to Beirut where for four years he pitched, shot and edited short films for the likes of Al Jazeera and Voice of America, as well as iNGOs like Human Rights Watch. Hostile-environment trained, John most recently worked full time for Save the Children as a videographer in locations including Ukraine, post-earthquake Türkiye and Somalia.
