About

For the last 15 years, Evan Engel has produced videos & podcasts about tech, media, business, and politics for outlets you know and love, and also The Onion. His work has taken him from Vietnam to Ecuador, and has at times seen him writing sketches for Sesame Street Muppets, driving across North America with a solar-powered car, or traveling to Gaza. Some career highlights: - Asked President Obama about his use of lethal drones, which prompted the president's first-ever disclosure of the drone program operating in Pakistan. His answer was later cited in a lawsuit brought by the ACLU and New York Times, and contributed to a diplomatic falling out with the Pakistani government. - Produced 200 episodes of Pivot, Vox Media/New York Magazine’s flagship podcast and one of the top 20 podcasts in US news. During his time at Pivot, Evan provided essential coverage of Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover, and platformed critical perspectives from writers and activists like Edward Ongweso, Jr., Evan Greer, Rani Molla, and Malcolm Harris. - Co-wrote the sketch Kevin Bacon Explains the 80’s to Millennials. Evan strives to make work that's weird, fun, informative, and never, ever, boring. (That's not a dig at boring. Some of his favorite hobbies are boring.) He loves finding interesting characters, unexpected developments, and impactful ways that people are working to shape the world. Let's talk about your next project!
