About
Chris Vanderwall got his start in film when he answered an ad in the paper for a personal assistant. He spent the next nine years traveling the world working for renowned Director/Cinematographer Scott Duncan. Vanderwall quickly learned to communicate a vision, create great work on any budget, and to load film reels in the back of a moving vehicle.
Eventually Vanderwall branched out and became a Director/DP working simultaneously in the documentary world as well as commercials. With a keen eye for the visual, he has a true knack for quickly building relationships with those he is filming, creating a comfortable environment where subjects can be their truest selves.
Vanderwall spent 5 years living and working in Los Angeles before relocating to Chicago where he currently resides.
