About

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chad Bartlett now calls Austin, Texas, home. Inspired by a range of artists, from German Expressionist painters to spiritual filmmakers like Carl Theodor Dreyer and Krzysztof Kieślowski, Bartlett explores themes such as human connection and redemption in his work. Early in his career, he collaborated with artists Tim Rollins + K.O.S. on a project for the Carnegie International Exhibition; now housed in the Carnegie Museum of Art's permanent collection. His education at The Maryland Institute, College of Art, and Ohio University, Scripps School of Journalism laid the groundwork for his evolution into filmmaking. With experience as a Stringer Photojournalist for The New York Times and an Assistant Editor under Terrence Malick, Bartlett's storytelling skills have matured. Based in Austin, he collaborates on independent film projects.
