Zach is a documentary DP and photographer from Maine. His work has focused on conflict and human rights in the Middle East, the Caribbean, East Africa and the US. He and his crew were recently recognized with the James Foley Medill Medal for Courage in Journalism for their work in rebel-held Idlib, Syria that aired on Showtime in 2020. In 2017, he documented the disturbing events of the Unite the Right Rally in Charlottesville, VA, for which he was recognized as a Finalist for a Rory Peck Award. He has won multiple Emmys, a Peabody and a DuPont Award for his work with VICE News. In addition to being the Director of Photography for VICE News, Zach has shot for Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain, ESPN and Tribeca Film Institute, where he taught cinematography. Zach carries a Part 107 Drone Pilot's license, HEFAT certification and an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver license.
