Tania Rashid is a Saudi born, LA based journalist and documentary filmmaker with over 10 years' experience in conflict zones across South Asia, Latin America and Africa on assignment for VICE, NBC News, Al Jazeera English, CNN International, National Geographic, PBS NewsHour and the UK’s Channel 4. Tania’s film on the drastic rise of femicides in Honduras, which she produced and directed, is the most viewed video uploaded to the VICE News YouTube channel in 2021, with over 20 million views. Last year, Rashid produced 5 episodes for a 6-part conspiracy theory docuseries “Shadowland” based on the critically acclaimed multi-article interactive project from the Atlantic, directed by Oscar nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger. The series recently aired on Peacock. Over the years, Rashid's work has earned her UNICEF's Regional Director's Award For Child Rights, Silver Award at the New York Film Festival International and Film Awards in 2017, and an award for Outstanding Multimedia Storytelling from the South Asian Journalist Association in 2016. She has also received various prestigious reporting grants including those from the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting and the International Women’s Media Foundation and honorable mentions from One World Media Awards, and the Sichuan TV Festival. This past year Rashid reported on the looming famine in Somalia for PBS Newshour.
