Nora Neus is an Emmy-nominated producer, writer and journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. She is the author of three books, including Muhammad Najem, War Reporter, a non-fiction graphic novel about citizen journalism in Syria. NPR named it one of the best books of 2022. Her second book, 24 Hours in Charlottesville: An Oral History of the Stand Against White Supremacy, comes out in July 2023. Nora tells people-centered stories about those working to make our world better: more equitable, more just, more safe, and more beautiful. She works across multiple mediums, depending on what’s best for any given story, including documentary filmmaking, television news, graphic novels, non-fiction books and podcasts. Nora has also produced over 3,400 hours of live television in the last 7+ years, first in local news in Charlottesville, Virginia and then at CNN in New York. She has produced and reported from Ukraine at the beginning of the Russian invasion in 2022, from Istanbul, Turkey for book Muhammad Najem, War Reporter, from Uvalde, Texas after the horrific 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary, from Puerto Rico after the earthquakes in 2019, from inside general population at the Maine State Prison, from avalanche territory in Telluride, Colorado, and many other places around the world.
