About

Never accepting the status quo. That’s what drove Matt to jump from a super-charged career making commercials for major brands to creating the visionary ads that have transformed the world of advocacy and political communication - opening new paths to victory for progressive underdogs and campaigns. Matt grew up in northern Virginia, graduating from the University of Vermont with a degree in religion studies. He hustled his way from the ground up as a production assistant to the heights of the advertising world in New York, just as technology revolutionized commercial-making. Harnessing his early knowhow of new digital capabilities to tell stories, he formed his own production company at the age of 23 and, not long after, reached a milestone that would cap a career for many admakers: seeing his work played on a network before the Super Bowl. Major clients followed-Macy’s, Gatorade, Coors-and his short films earned awards at the Tribeca Film Festival. But Matt was eager to do more. This came in 2013, when he was introduced to the underdog campaign of New York’s then-public advocate, Bill de Blasio, helping to propel the future mayor’s campaign with first-of-its-kind digital content. Matt began working with more underdogs, like a young Congressional candidate, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and an out-of-the-mold Senate candidate, John Fetterman. Their unique voices fit like a glove with Matt’s vision for telling mindful, meaningful stories, tapping the power of the new technology and fueling the rise of The Win Company, which he helped to found in 2015. Since then, Matt has continued to expand Win’s depth, reach and impact (and awards chest). Creating new types of TV ads and longform Web content. Bringing big clients like Reddit into the native content space. All while exploring the next technology, directing media and creative strategy and making pathbreaking and for clients like Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Randy Bryce and Lauren Underwood.
