About
Venezuelan-born Producer and Director, Ricardo Betancourt , embarked on his journey to New Orleans at the
tender age of 5. Abruptly; several years later, Ricardo and his family were forced to move back to Caracas, during
the toughest Venezuelan era. After high school, Ricardo was able to find his way back to the vibrant streets of New
Orleans.
During college, Ricardo discovered his passion for Filmmaking & over the past 5 years, he has honed his craft,
producing music videos, commercials, and short films, paving the way to his current role as a full-time represented
director. Ricardo has been part of Emerging Voices directors Lab in New Orleans, and Mifilm in NYC.
Currently, Ricardo is deeply engaged in developing a hybrid documentary and a feature-length project, both
inspired by his personal experiences. Ricardo aims to share his unique perspective and life experiences with the
world through his work.
