For the BBC, Jeremy recently produced and commissioned six documentaries on climate change in the global south. This series focused on climate adaptation and mitigation solutions by female communities. The films ranged from climate migration in the upper Himalayas, women fighting wildfires in Borneo and sea sponge farmers in Zanzibar.
Two films were long listed for the 2024 One World Media Awards and the film on Sea Sponge Farmers in Zanzibar was shortlisted for the Environmental Reporting Award.
The strict remit for this series included working with local nationals only and not allowing any flying to the location. This often proved challenging for the production team as locations were remote and often there was a limited number of filmmakers to work with.
Producing the films involved finding and developing stories from across the global south.
At Sketch Films, Jeremy produced a wide range of films for international NGOs, corporates and NGOs. He often works internationally and over the last few years has frequently worked in West and East Africa.
