After COVID devastated Kenya, oxygen prices began to skyrocket, causing people to lose their life. Ruth Wambui, a nurse-entrepreneur, set out to bridge the oxygen gap in the country. This film is a product of the Solutions Storytelling Project.
Oxygen Hub's vision is to reduce the morbidity and mortality as a result of limited access to critical life-saving medical oxygen in Sub-Saharan Africa. The organization works with local business partners in to power the production and distribution of medical oxygen through financially sustainable business models.
Topcare, powered by Oxygen Hub, runs healthcare businesses including medium level facilities in Kajiado and Nakuru counties in Kenya. The goal is provision of quality affordable services to the less privileged in society.
Brian is a Kenyan filmmaker who has worked on award winning/internationally acclaimed films from across the continent, most notably The Last Born (Malawi), Fela Kuti (Nigeria), The Leading Edge (UG, TZ, KE) among others.
Wanjiru is an artist first — a storyteller and a filmmaker. She's served as a writer, producer and production manager across a variety of films, from fictional films and branded content to TV series and character-led, verité documentaries.
