What's Navigating Nonfiction Video?

Navigating Nonfiction Video is a collaborative event hosted by Video Consortium, the Nashville Film Institute, and SONY. We’re inviting documentarians, journalists, video creators, students, academics, local newsrooms — any and all nonfiction video folks — to discuss careers in nonfiction video, the real-world impact this work can have, and tangible skills for when you’re out in the field.

Who is this for?

If you're an emerging or established journalist, documentary filmmaker, media student, newsroom/media org leader, nonfiction creator, or creative of any kind who cares about informing and inspiring audiences, this event is for you.

How is it being programmed?

Navigating Nonfiction Video is run by local-first global nonprofit Video Consortium (that's us!). Presented in partnership with Nashville Film Institute and SONY.

What should I expect when I attend?

Come on your own, with a colleague, or with a friend. Everyone who's attending will have their own skillset and perspective, but what we all share is a desire to use media for good — to share true stories that wake people up, to inform the public, and to inspire audiences.

Expect good people, good conversations and good food.
