About

Sophia is an award-winning filmmaker, born and raised in Flushing, Queens, where she began her career as a filmmaker directing her parents in scripted/doc hybrids as a child. Sophia directs and edits original concepts for clients such as Vice, Nike, Nylon, Genius, Super Deluxe, and Pitchfork. The pilot episode of WHOS ANNIE?, a comedy series she is creating, co-writing, and directing, premiered at Slamdance 2023, and won over 20 awards during its ongoing festival run including Best Director at Seriesfest. The Gotham, Shore Scripts, and Screencraft have supported Sophia's screenwriting and her short films have been shown at the Whitney, Hauser & Wirth, The Queens Museum, and MoMa. Her extensive portfolio of music videos has engaged millions of viewers for artists such as Paramore, Julien Baker, and The National. Sophia is currently developing several new projects, including a doc/scripted hybrid series about a former designer drug dealer.
