About

M. Louis Gordon is an award-winning filmmaker, editor, and audio creator with over a decade of experience making cinema, television, podcasts, and web content. He graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a concentration in audio, and swiftly built his career as an all-service recording artist and sound designer. Both independently and in partnership with Emmy-Award winning studio Silver Sound, he contributed to countless feature films, documentaries, and commercial projects. His credits include features at Sundance, SXSW, Slamdance, and others; series on Vice News, SNL, PBS and CW; and content for Hyundai, New Balance, NYC Ballet, and American Express. For four years, Louis served as the Digital Production Manager for the Shalom Hartman Institute, a leadership think-tank serving Jewish communities across North America. There he produced two Signal Award winning podcasts including the break-out audio documentary Heretic in the House, led a team of creators across audio, video and social media, and helped grow the organization’s audience six-fold. He is at home both in the director's chair and at the sound cart, balancing technical and creative expertise on set and in post-production. He's known for translating abstract concepts into empathic narratives, writing for the ear and the eye, and editing for the heart, with a distinct passion for the cerebral, the dark, and the absurd.
