Mathieu Faure is a French independent filmmaker and producer who won Gold at the 2018 Student Academy Awards for his personal documentary “An Edited Life”. His film was also selected by film festivals across the country including the DOC NYC Film Festival, The Global Peace Film Festival and the Peekskill Film Festival. During his News and Documentary Master’s program at NYU’s L. Carter Journalism Institute, Mathieu reported from Cambodia, with stories published in The New York Times and The Huffington Post and aired on PBS NewsHour. Mathieu next worked as a production assistant for the CNN Documentary unit, before joining CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. Mathieu produced his first feature documentary, "Eat Bitter", in the Central African Republic. The documentary received support from Hot Docs, DoCa, Sundance Documentary Institute, IDFA Bertha and AlterCine. It will be released in 2023. Mathieu is currently working as a field producer for CNN and Fareed Zakaria.
