Jonathan Pickett

Jonathan Pickett is an Emmy-nominated creative producer / director. He frequently works with People People Media, a small production company based on a farm in the San Francisco East Bay. His documentary work focuses on well-observed stories happening in real time, captured with a sense of intimacy and playfulness. He has been on the producing team for projects released through the New York Times, PBS, The Atlantic, ALTER, GQ Magazine, NoBudge, Short of the Week, and Vimeo Staff Picks. He's had projects premiere at the best film festivals in the world including Sundance, Tribeca, Austin, Nashville, Atlanta, Seattle, Mountainfilm, Palm Springs, DOC NYC, and more He produced Mr. Somebody which was a selection at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and screened with the Producers Guild of America. Beneath the Ink, a short documentary he co-produced, won 20 awards, qualified for the 2019 Academy Awards, and was acquired by Condé Nast, after which it received nearly a million views online. His most recent short documentary Chicken Stories won the jury prize for Artistic Vision at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, after which it was acquired by The New Yorker and selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
