Before transitioning into the documentary world as a producer, story producer/consultant, Ben began his career as an actor, working with filmmakers such as Phil Abraham, Greta Gerwig, Hannah Marks, Tim Blake Nelson and Miranda July. Past acting credits include Orange is the New Black, Anesthesia, Quitters, Lady Bird, Banana Split and Kajillionaire. Producing credits include the documentary John Leguizamo: Live at Rikers, which premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival and was distributed by NBC-Comcast, the Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries Chef’s Table, the docuseries Fuzz City and various other independent features. His production company is called Pontebba Films. He has a special interest in projects in the social impact and health and wellness spaces.
