About
Born in Izmir in 1985, Barbaros Gökdemir received his film and art education at Istanbul Bilgi University and Sabanci University. He completed his Erasmus studies in Film, Television and Scenography Department in the famous Finnish film school, Aalto University. He went on to join seminars and masterclasses at National Film and Television School in England and Budapest Cinematography Masterclass in Hungary, and he participated many workshops led by international film directors, producers, cinematographers and film historians most notably; Vilmos Zsigmond, Anthony Dod Mantle, and Peter von Bagh.
Following his education, he started working in the field of film and television, specifically in production and in post-production departments. He gained field experiences in Poland, Finland, Hungary, Germany, Azerbaijan and various parts of Anatolia.
In 2017, Gökdemir went on to direct spec commercial films for Renault and Land Rover.
Gökdemir currently directs TV commercials and he aims to develop his skills in storytelling and film directing, and he hopes to produce and direct cutting-edge films.
