I am a documentary filmmaker, photographer and impact investor based in India and London. I focus primarily on the intersection of climate, development, identity and migration with the aim of empowering local communities in storytelling.

About

Aparna Rao is a documentary filmmaker, photographer and impact investor currently based in India and in London. She holds a Bachelors in Economics-Mathematics and a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York and completed practice-based training in documentary filmmaking at UCL. Aparna has worked as an impact investor with a climate focus at leading international organisations and foundations including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Soros Economic Development Fund. Her recent work focuses on India exploring themes of identity, diaspora, migration and development.
