The Biz Basics Of Video Creator Journalism | Turn Your Video Content into Cash

You know how to make the content. That's the easy part. But how do you get the content to make money?

Today’s video journalists are being asked to do it all: report, produce, build an audience, navigate platforms, follow trends, find revenue, and think like business owners. In this three-part series from Video Consortium, explore what it actually takes to build a sustainable career around video creator journalism: from revenue models and sponsorships to brand integrations and everything in between.

You know how to make the content. That's the easy part. But how do you get the content to make money? In our second session, join us for tips and tricks for getting your video content to earn real revenue. Creator journalist Fernando Hurtado will share how he's turned his content into real money. Hurtado is the founder of In The Hyphen, a YouTube channel and newsletter covering U.S. Latino culture, and an adjunct instructor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches a course on the business of creator journalism. He'll share how he grew his YouTube channel into a real business, plus lessons he's learned from other creator journalists. You'll also walk away with a free deck template you can use to land sponsorships.
