Fernando Hurtado is a journalist and the creator of In The Hyphen, a YouTube channel covering U.S. Latinos with deeply researched, visually rich stories. Prior to In The Hyphen, the award-winning journalist was a manager of digital video for NBCUniversal, where he produced content and special projects for the NBC Owned TV Stations and the Telemundo Station Group. He's won Signal and Cynopsis Sports Media Awards for supervisor-producing My New Favorite Olympian and hosting BĂ­sness School at NBC. In 2023, he was named to L.A. TV Week's 40 Under 40, recognizing top media talent in Los Angeles. Hurtado is an adjunct instructor at the University of Southern California, where he teaches visual journalism. He is from Chicago and lives in Los Angeles.
