Powered by Knight Foundation, we’re thrilled to invite you to the first stop of the Press Play tour — our hands-on, community-powered national gathering series for both seasoned and up-and-coming documentary filmmakers, video journalists, local media professionals, and industry creatives. Press Play Jackson is happening September 12 in Jackson, Mississippi.
This isn’t your typical media gathering. Press Play is a collaborative space to connect across disciplines, ask bold questions, and reimagine the future of local storytelling. Together, we’ll explore what’s working (and what’s not), from emerging video formats to legacy newsroom shifts. Come curious, come open, come ready to build.
Co-hosted by @mstodaynews and @deepsouthtoday, we’ll gather at @millsapscollege for thoughtful panels, community breakout conversations, and an inspiring screening of local shorts w/ Q&A — followed by a celebration of Jackson’s talent with food and drink at @fertilegroundbeer.
