Thomas Machowicz is an award winning filmmaker and photographer based in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the Owner and Creative Director of Songbird Productions, a commercial production company specializing in brand documentaries and storytelling. Thomas also works as a freelance photo and video journalist for news outlets such as The Associated Press, Reuters and Libération, specializing in topics on climate change, border issues, homelessness and social justice. He is also the President and Co-Founder of Sanctuary Doc, a long term, multimedia documentary which tells stories of compassion for animals within our world's greatest challenges. From war and conflict to climate change, deforestation, animal agriculture and more, Sanctuary creates short films, photo essays and articles documenting animals and the people who rescue them. Thomas is well connected in creative, social, political and journalistic communities across Arizona, making him a great choice as a producer or fixer.
