Rod Blackhurst is best known as the Emmy and Critics Choice Nominated Director and Producer of the Netflix Original Documentary AMANDA KNOX which premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and was named a New York Times and LA Times Critic’s Choice. His first fiction feature, the micro budget HERE ALONE, which he Directed and Produced, premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival where it won the prestigious Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature before being released worldwide by Vertical Entertainment in 2017. Blackhurst recently show ran and directed the 6 part Peacock original documentary series, JOHN WAYNE GACY; DEVIL IN DISGUISE and directed on the Disney+ series WELCOME TO EARTH. He’s currently directing the original action thriller BLOOD FOR DUST starring Scoot McNairy, Kit Harington and Josh Lucas. As a genre-agnostic filmmaker moving between fiction and non-fiction, but always craft-first, Blackhurst and his producing partner Noah Lang run Witchcraft Motion Picture Company which is currently developing his original screenplay DIE BY NIGHT with Atomic Monster, THE WHITE ROOM with Amblin and packaging the forthcoming thrillers THE LIFE OF YOUR TIME, BABYGIRL and Brandon Weavil’s NURTURE.
