Randy Kwan graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a major in radio, television, and film, and a minor in photojournalism in 1987 and has worked as a photojournalist for newspaper and Associated Press. He has also worked as a news cameraman for a television station in Mississippi and freelance for a station in Hong Kong. He has also worked as a cameraman and producer for Mississippi Public Broadcasting and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife's series MISSISSIPPI OUTDOORS.
He has worked extensively in Los Angeles on various music videos, television shows, commercials, and features in various production positions before he became the chairman of the Film and Video Technology program at Hinds Community College in 2011. The program was the first film technical program in the state and has continued to evolve with the changing environment.
He is presently working on a Mississippi Braves baseball documentary as he continues to train a new generation of filmmakers.
