I am Midwest-based documentary director and DP with a background in investigative journalism and anthropology.

About

Rachel Lauren Mueller (she/her) is a Minneapolis-based, queer documentary director and cinematographer from a tiny mountain town. With her background in investigative journalism, she creates films that interrogate power structures while embracing expansive imagination. Rachel's films have been supported by the International Documentary Association, the Berkeley FILM Foundation, the Investigative Reporting Program, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. She has been a fellow at UnionDocs’ Summer Doc Lab, GroundTruth Films and the Overseas Press Club, and her forthcoming film 8 DAYS AT WARE is part of the first ever IF/Then Short Film Distribution Fellowship. Rachel has a Masters of Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley with a focus in documentary.
